There are five rivers in Ivano-Frankivsk region with the length more than 100 km within the region. They are Dniester – 200 km; Cheremosh – 167 km (including the tributary Black Cheremosh); Prut – 150 km; Limnytsia – 122 km and Svicha – 107 km.
The best period for rafting is the end of April or the beginning of may. At this time, rafting on various routes is possible – paddleboats, rafts, flat boats. At low water level, it is possible to use only double paddleboats, canoes and river kayaks. It should be considered that several floods could take place in the Carpathians within a year, when water level rises by 1-2 meters. Sometimes the water level can rise sharply even after a local thundershower.
Rafting on the Dnister River is one of the most interesting trips in Ukraine. Uniqueness of this route is provided, first, by picturesque landscapes and their originality: steep rocky shores up to 200 meters high, unique travertine rocks and other geological outcrops, caves and grottoes, waterfalls, picturesque islands, monuments of nature, history, architecture, and ethnography. In addition, all this is a wild and untouched nature, which gives a wonderful opportunity to plunge into the world of peace and harmony.
